Asus vs HP Laptops – Which Brand to Choose and Why?

Asus vs HP Laptops – Which Brand to Choose and Why?

Asus vs HP Laptops – Which Brand to Choose and Why? Exactly fifty years different in age, yet both are just as youthful and energetic! It’s almost like comparing a grandson to his grandfather; it may seem confusing at first sight but they’re actually remarkably similar.

One was founded in 1989 while the other dates back to 1939; despite this major 50-year difference, they’re still neck-and-neck in the laptop market.

HP, one of the most influential tech and computer companies in the world, has succeeded in building its reputation—sort of a must-to-mention name when talking about computers.

Meanwhile, Asus is going head-to-head with this 82-year-old beast because they offer unparalleled motherboard and component quality while also managing to offer appealing designs at affordable prices that many people can afford.

Moreover, they provide users with their ROG – Gaming Laptop Series, catering to the needs of those who game on their devices often. Now comes my question – Which one is best?

To ease some uncertainty about this tough decision there are two ways for you to find out for yourself:

First, check out this balanced but completely unbiased comparison between HP and Asus–and see what device might suit your needs best!

An Overview of Asus vs HP

Originally started as an OEM—a company that manufactured and sold computers under another brand name—ASUS grew from 4 Taiwanese Acer engineers who launched their own hardware business in 1989.

It was originally called ASUSTek Computers but has since changed its name to ASUS, now one of the most respected brands in the technology industry.

The company produces high-quality parts, which gives them a competitive edge over all other manufacturers out there; they offer comparable or better features than their competitors for less money.

They sell many products including desktops, PCs, smartphones, motherboards, and components; however, they’re best known for their laptops–especially powerful gaming machines like TUF and ROG series with unmatched builds. The VivoBook Series and ZenBook line are also notable offerings from ASUS.

2022’s Best Asus Laptops

HP

One of the longest-standing and pioneering names in technology, Hewlett Packard (HP) was established in 1939 by two friends Bill Hewlett and David Packard.

California-based company. It began manufacturing various computer parts before eventually entering the computer industry during the 1960s.

Since then, it has become a household name among computer enthusiasts thanks to its wide range of computers including laptops which account for most of its revenue.

The Envy line features expensive yet powerful mobile devices that do everything from managing finances to paying bills, while Spectre offers both affordability as well as great features for business professionals; other options include gaming laptops such as Pavilion or Omen which cater specifically to gamers who want impressive visuals without sacrificing performance.

2022’s Top HP Laptops

Asus vs HP Laptops – Which Brand to Choose and Why?

HP vs Asus – A comparison

HP is undoubtedly a company filled with tech geeks who have gained years of experience and having done so, have developed an unmatched reputation.

As for Asus, it’s not far behind in popularity either; both are racing neck-to-neck for what seems to be the top spot. When considering individual aspects such as style or price point- these two manufacturers are closely matched.

HP adorns its laptops with some sleek aesthetics and designs; just as Asus does to ensure an expensive appearance on their devices. In every way that matters – whether it be aesthetic appeal or cost- you will find yourself getting what you pay for either way.

These comparisons will explore the most important features of each manufacturer individually.

  1. Display quality and screen resolution
  2. Design, build quality, durability, etc.
  3. Pricing and ROI
  4. Innovation practices
  5. After-sale support

#1. Technical Components

Hard drives, memory space, and battery life – are some of the key points for comparison when determining which machine has better technology.

It’s hard to choose a favorite on this one because they both offer high-quality products at different price points – but personally, I find that Asus does well in low-priced models while HP excels in higher-priced ones.

Meet my expectations in the most ideal way, whether through RAM or hard drives. It doesn’t matter what brands you go with – Asus always features a 4-core processor in even its low-end laptops whereas HP never does.

Speaking of batteries, you’ll always find a 3-cell battery no matter which brand you choose; but if there’s one thing that sets Asus apart from other laptop brands out there (including HP), it would be the fact that they feature an 8-cell battery sometimes.

#2. Screen and Display Quality

Although it’s said that HP is the champion in display performance, I personally disagree. If it’s the screen size you want, Asus has that covered as well; both companies provide laptops with screens ranging from small (13 inches) to colossal (17 inches).

There are certain features where HP excels – such as providing a fantastic visual experience – but there are some features where Asus outshines them: namely when gaming is involved.

So while they’re tied when it comes to screen sizes, if we were talking about gaming then I would definitely go for an Asus laptop.

#3.  The quality of design and construction, as well as durability

The 3rd point in the Asus vs HP laptop comparison is their design and build quality.

Why? Well, with many years of experience crafting products that entice people – including those lower-tier machines – HP knows just what to put into its designs:

pretty colors, stunning details outside (and often inside) plus a delicate touch that can’t be beaten when compared to Asus which has high-quality machine designs among its more expensive models but less success among those everyday offerings.

If you’re on a budget and don’t want to compromise on features, HP is the way to go. However, when it comes to durability, while they may have similar performance levels, there are still some differences between them.

For example, ASUS laptops tend to have a stronger construction than those of HP—this difference can be difficult to find in most cases.

If you’re an active user who likes ruggedness but doesn’t care too much about how your laptop looks (for example), then ASUS is your best bet.

But again—if you want high quality and prices aren’t really an issue for you—you can buy from either of these brands; just keep in mind that they do differ somewhat when it comes down to dependability!

#4. Cost-benefit analysis and pricing

In terms of price, HP wins hands down. Their entry-level computer prices are much cheaper than what Asus offers. Whereas if you’re looking for a good value, then Asus should be your go-to company. Let me show you why.

It’s true that HP is an expensive brand, but they also have lower-priced machines like Chromebooks and laptops within their lineup – which is something that Asus doesn’t offer in comparison!

So if you’re shopping around at a lower budget level, there are tons of better options on offer from HP than what’s available from Asus.

Your needs may vary depending on whether or not you want to buy something new or use something second-hand – but either way, HP has something to suit every need!

When it comes to high-quality laptops, Asus is a great option for those who don’t want to spend too much money. You’ll get a great value for your buck when you buy an Asus instead of going with something from HP.

For example, while they both cost $500 USD (about $844 CAD), the most basic model that HP offers costs about $700 CAD ($494 USD) whereas ASUS starts at around $450 CAD ($318 USD).

Asus’ prices depend solely on what it can do, so although they may seem more expensive than other brands like HP, in reality, they’re cheaper because they have way higher performance. They’re definitely worth the extra cash!

#5. Innovation Practices

Known for its unparalleled excellence in innovation, Asus has taken the industry by storm. From a revolutionary ScreenPad to the new vapor chamber cooling system, the company continues to amaze gamers and consumers alike with its cutting-edge design concepts.

The ROG Zephyrus – one of the lightest 15 gaming laptops on earth – sets the benchmark for what’s possible from mainstream PCs capable of running today’s AAA games at max settings or pushing them further still.

HP seems great at bringing out speedy hard drives and having access to new RAM technologies before anyone else, yet Asus manages to do both just as well without all of this pomp and ceremony.

#6. After-Sale Support

At Asus, you’ll find most computers come backed by substantial and comprehensive warranties.

However, if there are any problems with your device – even if the employees are praised for being so well-mannered and polite – you might still feel frustrated trying to speak with someone about it.

User-friendlier than the company’s phone support is its online presence. But overall, Asus’ after-sale customer service falls just short of expectations.

HP

HP is certainly behind the curve when it comes to after-sale support; you’ll quickly become frustrated while trying to contact their customer care center. Quite a few people around the world have also come forward complaining about HP’s phone service.

While they back up laptops with a one-year warranty, their shipping and repair services are more efficient than what Asus provides on average. They’re very reliable in that regard; not so much with anything else.

What is the quality of ASUS laptops?

The Asus laptop catalog is excellent and no matter what your budget may be, there is always a sweet deal to be had- for example, the ASUS VivoBook Flip which does not just offer versatility but also come packed with terrific features.

What is the lifespan of ASUS laptops?

You should be able to get half a decade out of these laptops before the battery needs to be replaced.

Is Dell or Asus better?

Asus laptops are bulkier and heavier than Dell laptops which lean more towards being sturdy for office use.

Final Thoughts

Here’s my final thought on the Asus vs HP laptops comparison. Briefly recap what was written for those who are still unsure about which laptop is better to buy.

If you’re having trouble deciding between getting an Asus or an HP laptop, then this decision might be easier than it seems.

If you care a lot about looks and design—as well as entertainment needs—then HP would be a good option because they produce Chromebooks and other devices in this area.

Whereas Asus focuses much more on quality and power, producing primarily high-end gaming laptops that can take abuse without breaking down (and most importantly: offer great performance).

So if you need a device that will last longer and has excellent performance—but also doesn’t want to spend too much money – go with an Asus.

On the other hand, if you just want something stylish for mainly content consumption purposes or work outside of heavy usages – such as light browsing – then get an HP instead!
